Influenced by her rich Afro/Caribbean musical heritage Denise has been singing for as long as anyone can remember. Her range of vocal styles is truly remarkable which enables her to take her audience on a journey of musical exploration.
With her style firmly rooted in Gospel, it is with ease that she can express a dizzying array of styles from Jazz, through Funk, Soul, Rhythm ‘n’ Blues & Spirituals, leaving her audiences in no doubt that they have witnessed something exceptional.
Denise tours regularly throughout Europe and in countries as far away as Australia, Brazil and China and has performed at venues as varied as Buckingham Palace, The Purcell Room, Glastonbury, T in the Park, Edinburgh Festival,
She has worked with the internationally acclaimed James Taylor Quartet, is a former member of the Acapella group, Black Voices from Birmingham, and more recently in the UK as part of Drizabone Soul Family and in Europe & The U.S alongside such wonderful singers as Lillian and John Boutté (US) and musicians Thomas L’ettienne, (DE), Duke Heitger (US) Denny Ilett (UK) and many more greats in Ms Boutté’s extensive music family.
Her soul remains deeply rooted in Gospel and her band who present many traditional hymns infused with contemporary flavours of Soul, Funk, Latin and R&B sharing the powerful and uplifting message of hope.
