My Story
Well it all began at the tender age of 3! When my mother taught me a song, which I performed in my local church, called “He’s got the Whole World in His hands”

I went to church EVERY Sunday with My Mum… and I Thank God I did because it was there that I learnt
“If you don’t really feel it…. then don’t sing it!”

Dad played Brooke Benton, Sammy Davis and Jim Reeves constantly and sang with a passion and hence singing was established very early on as our basic and essential form of communication!

My older brothers had ‘eclectic tastes’ ranging from Pink Floyd to the Yellow Jackets, and from Bob Marley, Marvin, Stevie Wonder to the Clash…
And you can believe that their little sister, whenever possible, had an ear to their bedroom door.

By my teens and early twenties Jazz had
become a major influence and I listened keenly

to Ella and Louis, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughan, Anita Baker, and with such a early love of Soul music, studied the voices of Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan, and during this time singers from the Gospel tradition were starting to achieve larger commercial success such as Whitney Houston and here in the UK, Mica Paris.
The dream could be realised and I began to have hopes that I could some day be a professional singer.

Singing has and is taking me all the world and I am content as I reflect on the
humble beginnings of those church days, I truly thank the Creator for the gift he has given me…..

I believe it is my destiny to share with you by communicating from the heart in song ….….to Keep on Keeping on ..…….…and most of all to……………. Keep it Real………..
Real Faith, Real Hope, Real Love………

Mum and Dad…”the melody lingers on…”
